Press Release 02-15-05Calgary, Alberta, February 15, 2005
Tech Works Engineering Inc. (TechWorks) is now producing
their tuned, equal-length merge-collector headers in stainless
steel. The superior corrosion resistance of stainless steel
eliminates the need for ceramic coatings for rust protection.
The thermal properties of stainless steel mean that most turbo
applications will no longer require ceramic coatings to maintain
exhaust gas temperatures. The scavenging effect of the tuned
length is vastly improved because of the increased stiffness of
stainless steel. This reduces wave energy loss, further
improving power and efficiency. The increased structural
integrity also makes the pipes more dent resistant. The
elaborate primary tube layout allows for heat cycling movement which
prevents cracks. Stainless steel flanges are also used, again
for better corrosion resistance and to reduce the chances of warping
due to heat. The 'Version6' design fits Impreza RS/TS, Legacy,
Outback, Baja, Forester dual exhaust port EJ series engines with
manual transmissions.
